Welcome Spooky!
My name is Emily Johnstone- creator and editor of QuriouSphere.
Have you been having a hard a time looking for a book blog dedicated to all things Paranormal Romance? I did too so I stopped searching and made my own! My hope is to grow a community of like minded individuals with the same love for all things that go bump in the night. From vampires, were-anythings, witches, even alien encounters and, let us not forget those demons in the darkest reaches of the night. There are so many other creatures I haven’t mentioned but they’ll all have their spot in the lime light don’t you worry!
I’ll be covering everything from book reviews, recommendations, promoting author live events, reading challenges, and hopefully build a book club! I also want to give exposure to indie authors. It’s always good to expand the pool of authors and let new ideas grow.
Personal Journey
Emily Johnstone here!
A little about me:
I was born in 1989 and without a doubt I might be one of a few book bloggers to admit, I didn’t always love reading books! I remember being in middle school, forced to read To kill a Mockingbird and I would read the SparkNotes so I didn’t have to actually read the book! Around this time Harry Potter’s Prisoner of Azkaban premiered in theaters. My mother and I went to watch it together. Needless to say she was mesmerized. She bought the book set and told me to read them. Being a 15 year old that hated reading, I refused. As a result I was grounded until I finished reading the books and told her the continuation.
Little did she know that this would embark me on my incessant need to devour books. This my friends, is how I fell in love with reading. It all started with The Goblet of Fire and since then, my passion has only evolved, but never dwindled!
Taking the Leap
For many, 2020’s pandemic was a critical point. Many lost their jobs and were forced to get creative to make ends meet. For me, it was the end of my life as I knew it. I was married, gave birth to my second child, and then it all came crashing down around me. I found myself in a grueling divorce, and back at my parents home, starting from absolute scratch. Through years of therapy and self discovery I got the courage to leave my career and take this leap of faith and follow my passion! It’s very well known cliche, but rightly fitting to my situation; Like the Phoenix that rises from the ashes even stronger than before so shall I from the ashes that was my previous life and what is yet to come.
